Rules :
Any player that isn`t on the salary lists will cost 1$.
If you want to sign a player that isn`t in the yahoo universe yet, you have to wait until he goes through the yahoo waivers process. You can DRAFT a player who isn`t in the yahoo universe, but you can`t sign one via free agency.
As serious as this league looks, THIS IS A FUN LEAGUE. I am the commish, but I`m setting up this league so that`s it`s not a job for me neither. I want to be able to enjoy this league as much as you will, so this means you`ll have to ALL do you small part.
Rule #1 - Stay active, have fun, and no complaints! This is a happy-go-lucky, go with the flow league that will be operated in a mature fashion...which also means no vulgar language, respect each and every owner, and no babysitting crap! I will not hesitate at any time to replace anyone who goes against this main concept of this league. If you already have any problems with this, leave now and save us all the hassle.
You must have 24 players on your roster at all times and respect the 410$ cap!
Your other responsabilities:
- You will all have to take care of your team, player salaries, draft picks and make sure they`re up to date. If you make a trade and your salary doesn`t match or the picks havn`t been changed on the tripod site after a few days, please let us know. It will avoid confusion later.
- You must respect all deadlines set. Especially when it comes to naming our keepers and stuff like that.
Transactions : You must post your updated salary after each transaction:
Free Agent signings:
After each signing, you must post this info on the yahoo board:
example
- previous payroll 392
- player cut + salary Koskie -15
- player added + salary Hillenbrand +18
- new payroll 395
This is part of the "everybody do your part" system. It might not seem like a big thing to post, but believe me, it will help!
Trades:
- After each deal that is made, both owners must post their new salary on the yahoo board. You must also indicate if there are any draft picks involved in the trade and which ones. I won`t make the changes on this site until the deal is accepted on yahoo.
- If there are any draft picks involved in your trade, post your entire trade on the yahoo board as soon as your deal is made so that everyone can see the deal with the picks. When viewing a deal thru yahoo, we can`t see picks on there. As you know, draft picks can be crutial in a deal.
- The league will be set up in the "commish" mode for the trades. The main reason for this is that we always seemed to be waiting 2 sometimes 3 days for our players after a trade. There hasn`t been 1 really bad lobsided trade yet in this league, so this shouldn`t be an issue. If an owner makes such a bad deal he`ll have to live with that trade in the future which is punishment in itself.
Salary cap :
- The salaries will be taken each and every year from the magazine "Fantasy Baseball Index".
- The salary cap will be $410 (hard cap). We`ll have 24 players.
- You will all be responsible to stay under the cap and tabulate your own salaries. If we have any problems with anyone doing "funny stuff" with their salaries, we won`t have that problem with him (or them) for long. He will be replaced.
- We will now have 3 DL spot on our roster...those players will stay on your payroll.
Trade deadline and Free agents:
- The trade deadline will be set to the latest date yahoo allows us (or appox. Sept 1st). After that date, the FA market will remain open but all pick ups after that date will not be elegible to keep on your $120 keeper list.
Keepers / Franchise player / Draft:
- At the end of the season, we will keep 120$ worth. Some of us might have 5 players, some 4...some 7. That`s ok...as long as we`re all under 120$.
Once all the keepers are handed in at season`s end, the salaries will all be erased until next year`s index.
- Every team will be allowed to designate a "Franchise player". This player will be immune to your $120 keeper salary cap. The player you chose to franchise will keep his current salary as long as he keeps the franchise tag (you could get a real bargain for years to come by franchising a low $ player, but you`d get more out of your $120 cap by franchising a high $ player...) . His franchise status and salary will be frozen until the next off-season where you will have the option to keep him as your franchise player or name someone else. If a franchise player gets traded, he will keep his salary until the off-season.
* in short, the player you chose to franchise will not count in your $120 cap and will keep his same salary for the next season.
At the draft, will all have 12 draft picks. If your roster is full but you still have picks, you can still trade them for either picks for the next year or for players. You could use them by cutting someone from your roster, but you keep that salary until the draft is over. You cut the player now, but keep the salary until after the draft. The cut will not give you any cap room during the draft, but it will allow you to draft who you want. Just remember to post what your doing if you chose on of these options.
